Who runs Voters Revolt?

The answer is ... no one!

Voters revolt is not a campaign in the conventional sense.  Nor is It an organisation. It is an idea.  To give that idea a focus, this site was set up by one or two modest campaigners for freedom and democracy in Lincolnshire, who do not wish to play any further public part.

Their functions will simply be:

(1)  to publicise the idea of Voters Revolt, mainly through the website.

(2)  to maintain contact with other campaigns, the political parties and the media.

(3)  to call for the supporters of Voters Revolt to take action, if and when circumstances demand it.

The real work of campaigning for the restoration of democracy will be done by a multitude of individuals and groups, acting independently in their own way, approaching the problem from many different political and philosophical directions.  Their efforts will not be co-ordinated or harmonised, and will be all the stronger as a result.

The fight for democracy will only succeed - if it does - because it becomes a deeply felt need in the hearts of millions of ordinary men and women - a historic phenomenon comparable with the waves of popular feeling that built British democracy over the centuries. 

Undoubtedly, the concept of the Voters Revolt will be derided as naive.  Indeed it is.  But so were most of the great political and religious ideas that changed the world.  The idea of Democracy is so powerful that it has survived the challenge of dictatorship in many forms.  It is under attack now from insidious global ideologies which promote bureaucracy as the master, not the servant, of the people.
